For the Sporting Holiday, Wallasey's amenities
were all embracing. The Municipal sporting facilities were all open on
a Sunday
(remember, Sunday was a day of rest).

| Yacht regattas were frequently
staged by the West Cheshire Sailing Club and the Wallasey Yacht Club. Rowing
enthusiasts had the £90,000 super Marine Lake with it's attractive
lido setting. League Cricket matches were featured each Saturday at New
Brighton's Cricket Club grounds in Rake Lane. |
