New Brighton 1953
Indoor Entertainment

When the weather is unkind, there is indoor entertainment to suit EVERY taste.

The Palace Amusements

The Palace Amusements has been owned by the Wilkie family for generations and is still the main attraction today. The Merry Go Round has made way for an excellent indoor go kart track . However, inflation has taken it's toll, a ride will cost more than 3d.

The Grosvenor Ballroom (Liscard)

Many a good night could be had at the Grosvenor. It's as popular now for local blood donor sessions as it was for dancing in the 50's.

The Tower Ballroom

Other famous night spots were the Tower Ballroom, The Grand Hotel and the Empress Rooms.

The Floral Pavilion

The Floral Pavilion still features high on the North West entertainers circuit, with many a star visiting New Brighton on a regular basis, including the Beatles.
