2001 Easter Egg Run


On Sunday 1st of April 2001, saw the gathering of over 16000 motor cyclists for the 21st annual Egg Run. This Caritable event takes the riders on a senic route around the Wirral.
Motor cyclists gather on the New Brighton promenade for the 11 o'clock start.


 
It is belived that this event could be the largest convoy of motorcyclists ever and representatives from the Guinness Book of records were there to take count.
The first of the 16000 riders enter Wallasey Village on their way to Clatterbrigde Hospital

 
This chariable event raised £10,000 and 15,000 easter eggs for the Clatterbride Center for Oncology, the Childrens unit at Arrow Park Hospital, West Air Ambulance and the SAM appeal.
The convoy took over 50 minutes pass, giving the crowds a great day to remember.
